InternPlus connects college students with paid internships with Innovation DuPage Members, providing a valuable workforce development opportunity for the student and a subsidized resource for bootstrapping ID Members. The cost of the internship is split between Innovation DuPage and the member company. Interns can work up to 20 hours/week at $15/hour, gaining hands-on entrepreneurial experience alongside startup and small business owners, plus scheduled career readiness workshops to help prepare for future employment.  Workshop topics include:

• LinkedIn & Elevator Pitch
• Job Search Skills & Resume Building
• Interview Skills & Mock Interviews
• Entrepreneur Panel Discussion

Interested students should:

• Be available to work up to 20 hours/week
• Commit to the full program, including all career readiness workshops
• Be a current college student in good academic standing
• Have reliable transportation to and from work

Students will also receive hands-on entrepreneurial education through working side-by-side with entrepreneurs on their companys immediate needs. Additionally, the cohort of accepted students will take part in a series of career readiness workshops to prepare for future employment opportunities.

Eligibility

• Seeking an internship in graphic design, marketing, social media, web development, and sales.
  
• Reliable transportation to and from work is required  (internships held at Innovation DuPage and businesses located in DuPage County).
  
• Must be a current college student.
  
• Must be in good academic standing with the College.

Schedule

Interns will work up to 20 hours per week. Each hired intern’s exact weekly schedule will be determined in concert with their employer. Career Readiness Workshops will take place monthly from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Workshops are expected to be held in-person at Innovation DuPage, 535 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
