InternPlus connects College of DuPage (COD) students to local start-ups and small businesses for paid, professional positions during the 2022-2023 academic year. InternPlus students work up to 20 hours a week for $12 per hour through December and $13 per hour in 2023. Students will also receive hands-on entrepreneurial education through working side-by-side with entrepreneurs on their company’s immediate needs. Additionally, the cohort of accepted students will take part in a series of career readiness workshops to prepare for future employment opportunities.
The InternPlus program seeks to minimize the barrier to entry for students from communities that are traditionally underrepresented in internship programs, by encouraging applications from COD students who identify as one or more of the following: BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), Female, Nonbinary (preferred umbrella term for all genders other than female or male).
Internships will begin on October 17th and will run through March of 2023 with breaks for Thanksgiving (11/ 23 - 11/27) and winter holidays (12/20- 1/3). Interns will work up to 20 hours per week. Each hired intern’s exact weekly schedule will be determined in concert with their employer. CareerReadiness Workshops will take place approximately every other Wednesday from 3:30-4:30 pm (exact dates and topics listed below). Unless COVID restrictions change, Workshops are expected to be held in-person at Innovation DuPage (535 Duane Street, Glen Ellyn 60137). We will be monitoring and observing local COVID public safety guidelines.

PreMil is a multi-dimensional streetwear brand with retail locations that promote empowerment through the journey of a “premature millionaire”. It’s not about the millions, but about the fulfillment that’sreceived through the pursuit of a meaningful journey. We promote our message through our urban-focused merchandise, influencers, events, and media. With the launch of our sister company, The Garage, the intern will be tasked with supporting staff through City submittals, project scope reviews and construction cost projections. The intern will mostly be helping with the assistance of the day-to-day operations of the owner. Goals for the internship include analyzing financial statements and creating projections to meet our quarterly goals and assisting in the improvement of systems and CRM tools that will help both The Garage & PreMil.
LivNow Relocation is a Senior Relocation Management company that manages the relocation process for Seniors moving into Senior Living Communities. We are a start up company that is only 8 months old but growing rapidly. We have 6 full time employees and 2 contractor employees. A group of developers have created a mobile platform (our Good Move Mobile App) which will be rolled out in the fall.
We are looking for a Marketing/Graphic Design intern that can assist us with a variety of things. We need support promoting our Good MoveApp, creating animated training videos, marketing videos (live short video clips), brochures, PPT presentations for webinars, hosting webinars, articles,and posting on social media. We will look for our Intern to create templates for presentations/proposals, write brief articles/blogs, and be capable of posting on social media platforms that include You Tube, Facebook, Instagram,and TikTok, in addition to other marketing related activities that will present themselves. We anticipate attending conferences that will require carefully planning and promotion and the Intern will be involved in the execution.
